I think a lot of the frustration also comes from only 1 person being down. Hickman is a big part of it, but everyone else on that panel is a person we all look up to and adore and are all still in attendance at C2E2. This did mention 3M/3W is thinking of something for C2E2 so I'd like to still be patient to see what we still have in store with Steven, Mike, Mike, Nick, and Jason. With only 1 person down and EVERYONE else still in attendance I hope they are thinking of us to come up with something special. I also am going to C2E2 just for this. Again, Hickman is special, but everybody else on that panel is equally as special to me. It would be unfortunate if 1 person being effected by COVID prevents all the others in the panel who is still attending to participate. As far as a consumer perspective it becomes unbalanced catering to SDCC and NY and leaving us C2E2rs in the dust

That stated...I am extraordinarily displeased with 3W3M. I tried to find a means to send a private note; found nothing. At risk of airing dirty laundry or coming off as entitled or sour graping, I'll post my grievance here.
With respect to C2E2...and I realize risks and uncertainty at play...based on the 3/18/2022 email promoting C2E2, I bought my ticket. Not knowing what day(s) 3W3M would be doing anything, it was a 3 day ticket. And then the hotel block. I'm now paying or about to pay $1,500 for C2E2 plus 12 hours of total driving and more money for parking and food. In all, spending $2,000 or more. I had zero other interest in anything C2E2 other than 3W3M and the associated ashcan, lithographs, book signing and possible sketch/doodle opportunity. I could cancel the room booking and save that money and my time, but I'm still out the few hundred dollars in ticket. The family says I should go anyway...but, it is disappointing and I regret the expenditures and inconveniences for something now not happening.
Add to that the lack of many Founder benefits. Nearly 1 year into this and we have had minimal benefits that equate to $250.00 for the subscription. Live events have been sparse. I have no idea of any monthly Founder meetings ever having occurred. I do not recall getting the deluxe ashcan, signed print, collector card, pin/coin, or any materials. Special offers and discounts...to what? Nothing has been offered. Some other Substacks have variant covers or signature opportunities...a store...3W3M - nothing. Eventually I guess the Systems book will ship, possibly with the other stuff...but, being honest - that's a $250 (+ $C2E2 money) book and is a lot to pay for the 1 thing (versus a non-Founder level subscription where the works can still be enjoyed).
I respect Jonathan and Mike and Mike and Jason and all the other 3W3M creative forces. I've appreciated the creative muscles they've flexed and the work produced. However, being honest here - the money paid for the promoted benefit of Founder has failed to materialize; this entire experience has been underwhelming, and now with C2E2's VIP cancellation, more than irritating.
I'll be interested in the 8/1/2022 email's offered "alternative activities for our founders...", but the 3W3M track record on this front has been sparse; I am cynically expecting very little.
My apologies for airing the grievance. I do very sincerely wish Jonathan a fast recovery; ultimately that's the most important outcome from this.
Hi Bill- you are receiving a 200-page deluxe signed hardcover, the 32-page [Foundations] Comic (also signed), 2 prints (also signed), and a collector card. We just posted an update on all of the above just today- these items are shipping to you later this month, and we think that's a substantial reward offering by any standard. We also extended everyone's subscription for an additional month, free of charge, so that they would have all of these offerings before their subscriptions ended.
We sympathize with your frustration, but COVID-19 is simply a reality of the world right now and upends planned events all the time. No one is more disappointed than us, obviously, but health and safety have to come first. Appreciate your understanding.

I can’t say that I am not heartbroken as I was looking forward to finally meeting JH. I went all out and bought the best of everything as soon as you guys announced you would be in Chicago. This will be my first modern age Comic Convention so we will make the most of the trip. I pray JH heals better than ever and that all of us remain safe in these days & nights to come. C2E2, here we come!!!!

Also will there be information in the show about re-upping subscriptions and what the end of the first year means for getting the published stuff so far? Where do we declare that we want to wait for the signed Foundations comic?
I am also surprised by the lack of communication going into the event. I understand the current situation requires reshuffling and so they plan to send an update today. However before the cancellation announcement it didn't feel like we were getting the same level of info ahead of time. I was actually manually going through my emails because I was afraid I missed a sign up message or schedule with details.

We've just posted the full schedule for C2E2. For SDCC, we posted the schedule 5 days ahead of the show. We would've done roughly the same here (instead of 2 days before) had it not been for the COVID situation. Appreciate your patience.
