Here’s an idea:
Obviously, we’re building worlds in front of you right now, and having a lot of fun doing it. Hopefully you are, too.
The guys were all talking about a how a thing should visually ‘feel’ the other day, and we were throwing out ideas. And then we started talking about that process (reference, and inspiration, and iconography and, and, and...), and what might also be fun would be to try and replicate that with you.
So what if we spent some time on the side, looking at a piece of fiction we’ve loved? And what if we do it together? That’d be cool, right?
So. Let’s watch Alfonso Cuarón’s Children of Men together this week. Just to start with the best. The internet says it’s currently available for streaming on iTunes and Showtime.
On Saturday, we’ll have a discussion thread about it where you can share your thoughts. Yes, we can talk about what makes it a great story, but I’d like to focus on what makes it a great world. Let’s examine that, take it apart and see what we find.
I suppose the biggest question is do you guys want to do this? And second, do you want to try and sync it up and everyone start watching it at the same time (say 5pm EST?), or just watch it on your own and then just make a thread?
Let us know.

Watching a movie with Jonathan Hickman and discussing it. Awesome idea!
As this movie has some of the best world building I’ve ever seen, I think this is an AMAZING idea!
