Almost had a heart attack opening this substack wondering if the results were going to be posted. I haven’t felt that kind of “did I make it” burst of energy since high school
Happy to hear that there was a lot of great quality in the submissions! Im excited to have had the opportunity, and whomever advances forward the best of luck!
They gave us just enough knowledge to be dangerous. I can't wait to see what everyone came up with. Far-out, galaxy-shifting concepts or intimate slice of life stories? High-tech heists? Magical murders? Game of Thrones intrigue? What kind of stories will we get?
I think we'll see how well this goes and then go from there. I definitely don't want to get in a rut of doing the same things over and over, but if it's a hit, then I wouldn't rule it out.
Man alive, this gets the heart pumping, huh? Before I opened the link to read this my mind vacillated at lightning speed between “holy shit this is it my comics career will finally happen after all the scripts and almosts and false starts ahhh” and “well, time to read a rejection letter, be sad for a sec, then get back to the drawing board, oh well!”
What an exciting thing to be a part of, and what a lovely community to share it with!
So exciting! Looking forward to seeing who made the cuts. Also, and this might be repeating myself, but you think for those of us not very familiar with the script writing process, might get another example from you about what we should be looking to do for our outlines? The Ex you gave for the pitch was very insightful, and I feel this will help others as well.
Looking forward to seeing what the next few months bring us all.
I'll try to give an example of each step. I do want to be careful not to make you guys only do these things the way I might (or do), but the short answer is, yes.
I appreciate that JH. I certainly don’t want to make u guys foot everything by walking us step by step, but these initial parts, those I think we could use a little proper guidance with. So thanks again.
A very warm congratulations to everyone who took the plunge and sent pitches in, and a huge thank you to Jonathan and co. for the work they have (and will continue to) put in this contest!
So excited to see all this play out even if I’m not selected. Watching something go from a pitch to a complete comic all while being constantly revised based on notes will be so cool!

This is one of the coolest opportunities anyone is offering! Thanks for the update!
Do you guys plan doing this every year?

Really excited to see what everyone comes up with! And great job to everyone that entered. It is no small thing to put your thoughts before others!

I’m excited to read stories submitted by my fellow readers/founders/all members really.

Thanks for the update!
Any updates on the webstore launching?
Pretty soon (there are reasons why it's taken longer than expected but they're good ones and that's for another post).
This is awesome! Fast timeline!
Thanks to everyone for your generosity of engagement! Can’t wait to see the next steps of this creative scrum. Go team!
Hi, we’re the shortlisted pitches announced? I don’t see anything but I could have missed an update.
