I suspected it'd be a tie ever since the State of the Universe post earlier this week, which mentioned "once the winners are revealed," plural. Sure, it could've just been a typo, but still...
I pulled an all-nighter Thursday, so I was sleeping in and actually woken by my cellphone's chime announcing this post. Grabbed my phone to see what it was, planning to get back to vital much-needed sleep right after.
I was not able get back to sleep.
Massive, massive thank you to Hickman and the rest of the 3W3M team. And also thank you to the other contestants, who kept bringing their A game, driving me to up my own game.
Massive congrats, Isaac, Y., and Ramsay! I'm thrilled for you, and looking forward to seeing your stories in full flower. It’s been an education and a pleasure going down this road with everyone involved at every stage. Thank you, Jonathan, for making the masterclass so much fun, and thanks to the whole 3W3M team for making worlds so very worth writing!
The only thing keeping me from feeling absolutely gutted is that those were my favorite outlines/scripts, and at least I'll get to see them come to life. Congrats y'all; it's well deserved.
Congratulations to the three winners! I can't wait to read the final comics. It's been an honor to participate in this process. I've learned a lot from it, and I want to once again thank Jonathan and this community for providing the opportunity.
Hell yeah - congrats, everyone! At this rate, Sourcebook #3 is gonna be fully guest-written, and I'm here for it.
I'm obviously here for the comics, and I look forward to the day that they're more regular. But it's so cool seeing this all be built and how much effort is put into the collaboration and subscriber involvement. This really is a truly unique approach to shared storytelling that I've never seen.
Well look at that, my favorites won. Even though I had no involvement in the writing, it still feels rewarding to watch a story go from idea to script to comic. Really looking forward to the finished products.
