I think it would be so nice and appropriate for the administrator to descend from her ship in that nice high back chair. Standing? Sounds so pedestrian.
I remember reading about an experimental "invisible" poncho like that years ago. It's one of those ideas that I love, like when Ellis had the Invisible Woman in Planetary have to wear goggles in order to see while invisible. It's just fun to consider. So, great detail. Great design. I'm also a sucker for cutaway maps, so this post was really hitting buttons for me.
I really love the way that you’ve developed the Lab here! The seemingly infinite possibilities of what could be in the bowels of this laboratory are so exciting (it seems like a metaphorical iceberg where so much is hidden beneath, what’s hidden supports the pieces above, yet what’s hidden also has the power to cripple those who rush into contact with it).
I’m curious about the natural environment around the lab. Do the forestry camouflage backgrounds which the thief is modeled against suggest this lab to be in the woods? Is the pole of Ordo like Hoth? And, tangentially related, is the design of the dome informed solely by its scientific and structural purpose, or is there a meteorological imperative implicit in its design?
And one more note, I really love how you’re leaning into the big picture spatial designs as you’ve done with the pirate city and now the lab. Seeing these narrative ideas in a larger 3D space has been magic.
I’m SO excited by what you’re doing here! All the best.
I imagine the environment around the lab is snow as far as the eye can see. So yes, Hoth- like.
I used a forest as a background when showing the thief's camouflage just because I thought it got the concept across the most clearly. If I used a white background and he looked white Im not sure if it would have made much sense.
Dome design- I wanted it to look plausible and present a big mystery of what's happening inside. Now that it's there it's up to the writers to fill in what that is, so the reasons it's made that way are to be determined.
Just happy to be done with Dune. Love the story, and truly a defining moment in world building
and the power of imagination... that said, if I ever have to listen to Sting scream/whine "I will kill you!" one more time in my lifetime, one more time, I will develop a time machine with the singular purpose of stopping the band Police from ever forming. Simply to stop his rise to stardom.
My only regret would be that no one would know the great sacrifice that I have made for our world. For there will be no 'Roxanne' in my world building. Fortunately she'll never have to turn in that red light.
Big Baby screaming “YES!” .gif!!! Lol! High Master looks like he deserves to be a main character! You know I love the idea of the hidden underground architecture! The chef’s kiss is most definitely the napping couch though! Lol! Ya gotta have one of those in a LAB that could destroy everything! Great exciting work! Looking forward to the comic!
The Syndicate Administrator looks like a boss and I want a story all about her now.
Haha! That's the best case scenario for any of these concept sketches, the visuals make us want to see more of that character or place.

Thats a great idea!
Great stuff!

Just killer! 👌
