The Peacock Champion reminded me of a Lucha Underground guy named Mil Meurtes.

As an obsessed wrestling fan, please more of this, please.

Nice to see Del Mundo hop on the Huddleston crystal train with that king's crown!

That concept art for the pit really pops, I love the way the teeth look. There's something about forced to fight narratives like Planet Hulk or even the more recent Warworld Saga in action comics that's just so compelling.

I'm a little on the fence about the peacock champion, though. Did he choose to wear all these swords so close to his spine? Why would he pierce his impenetrable skin/shield in the first place? Before this post I had a picture that all those swords came from previous fights, being so close to his spine that removal would kill him.

I feel like he’s just a madman and he wants to show fear visually like “hey guys look at all these swords in my back, it doesn’t hurt which means you won’t hurt me”. He’s kinda flaring those swords like a peacock, so he’s showing off to initimidate his opponents. Also, I did think through the whole spine issue but I figured he’s got massive layers of skin that the swords wouldn’t get far enough to the spine or avoid it but I do love your take on having the swords from previous fights being so close to his spine he’d rather keep it in then risk removing it. I would totally take that in but it’s too bad he’s dead now. Let’s hope his body can regenerate and we can bring him back.

I could go on about how the king's design process was the funniest/coolest so far, but the truth is that you had me at "bloodsport". Very nice post!
