Founder here... I ❤️ 3W3M. I absolutely dig the two current ongoing series! Fantastic work by everyone.
Thinking out loud, was there consideration to reversing which series is free & which is behind a paywall? Curious about that, as the volume of content seems to be disproportionate to the current configuration. Have you seen an increase in new paid subscriptions since The Vallars debut? I'll hang up and listen. Thanks!
The goal from the beginning has always been to get the work in front of as many people as possible. At the same time, we always want to provide value for our paid subscribers, at all levels, since they’re the ones who allow us to do everything we’re doing. Whether that value comes in the form of physical rewards, exclusive comics, new experiences, helping shape the story/universe, etc., that’s something we will always determine and modify as we move forward.
One of the key things we look for is your feedback. The immediacy of doing everything outside of traditional frameworks means we get to release things when we want and get immediate feedback. So let us know how you’re feeling here in the comments or at contact@3w3m.com.
Not to discount what you are saying, Grant, but I personally appreciate how much is being made public (also a founder, for what it is worth). I feel there is a real public value in making as much art available as possible. I also think those who are able to create art should be compensated freely. In a (or, more accurate, “my”) perfect world, all art would be free and available to all, with the nation properly reimbursing the creators. We do not live in that world (nor is it really a practical reality for many reasons that aren’t germane to this discussion). However, if I am able to support artists putting out great content widely, I consider it a honor to do so. Minimizing the constraints of capitalism is, in my opinion, a wonderful thing, and I hope 3W/3M continues to share widely. Obviously just my opinion, but it is one that I feel strongly about!
Going to need Kato in the store ASAP!
Protect Kato at all costs
Siblings, same no matter the moon.
the slide made me think, "Why do we even have that lever?"
