As you can probably tell from the header above (more on that soon), we have a whole slew of announcements coming your way in regards to year 2 here at 3W/3M. But there was one particular announcement that we realized it would be better to make now, so that it’s already up and running when everything else hits.
For a while now, many of you have been asking for more tools to build community here. At the same time, the team at Substack came to us with an exciting opportunity to participate in a beta test of a new feature they’re adding.
It’s called Threads, and the idea is simple. Think of it as a feed of posts where we can engage in more casual conversation day to day, but away from the noise of social media. A space specific to this community, where we can share stuff quickly and with more frequency (while also not cluttering up your inbox in the process). You can read more about it here.
To access Threads, all you have to do is download the Substack app:
And click the threads icon at the bottom (looks like two word balloons).
We’ve just posted our very first open thread, which we invite you to join here:
And tomorrow, we’ll be hosting [WORLDS WORTH WATCHING] ALIEN as a thread- hope to see you there. Beyond that, we’ve got exciting plans for things we can share in the space- AMAs, interesting links, book discussions, early glimpses at new work, and more (probably even some sports stuff, if we’re being honest).
One last note: we know many of you are android users. The Substack app will be coming your way VERY soon we believe, and there’s already a waitlist you can join. Thanks for your patience on that front, we promise we’ll keep you updated.
Okay. Jump over to the app and introduce yourself. Check back regularly. See you there. - 3W/3M Team
How about those who work from desktop computers?
If I did do social media from phone, it would also be for Android.
I love to chat/interact/comment, etc, but looks like this feature won't be for me.
Feels very unfair that Android users are kept away from the community.
