This is awesome. I think substack is kinda perfect for process posts and discussions but it's not really designed first and foremost for reading comics. With 3W3M being a digital first project, improving that experience just makes sense. Very exciting stuff!
Very into this. I don't love the act of downloading the files, then putting them in Panels or another comic reader. So a native reader app for 3W3M is great. A couple questions:
1. what does "personal collection" mean? I saw you could buy comics in the app. If we have already been a subscriber, do we need to do that? I'd hope to not have to buy stuff a second time.
2. will each new comic be available in the app the same time as it is in Substack?
3. Something about the sourcebooks that is difficult to read on a tablet is the font size. Any chance there will be some optimization or accessibility scaling for the app?
1. No, you won't need to buy any comics you have subscription access to. But you can add any title or release to your library and organize them as you see fit.
Incredibly excited for this. It can be difficult to show people the amazing comics in 3W/3M that they specifically will like, as some of them are from prior years. This will really help with showcasing what you all do!
This is huge. It will be much easier to go back and read prior releases this way. Bravo and congrats! Looking forward to the testing, for optimization. 🤘❤️
I hate to be ***that guy*** but this feels a little unnecessary. I’d rather more content than a different way of consuming that content, if that makes sense.
Absolutely. Jonathan is very involved, still writing a number of things (we just announced the return of Academy last week, for instance), and even drawing (SEED, found in the [MAPS] Sourcebook)! And there's more where that came from...
WHOA… this is awesome. The extra step of downloading (plus the unfortunate file name situation) was always a bummer. This is gonna be a lot easier
as long as it’s easier to find and read things than it is in the Panels app then it’s a win
We love the Panels folks and you'll still be able to use that, too. But yeah, very excited for what this will add to the mix.

3. We'll look into this!
Great, thanks!

Congrats to the team, this looks amazing 👏👏
Looking forward to this! I know the team has a lot of ideas about digital experiences and I'm excited you'll have a platform to test them.
Very cool! Love that it's additive and doesn't change anything that already exists.
This looks cool. Don't forget to optimize for tablets, too.
Not pictured here, but we did completely different versioning for tablets. It looks fantastic.
ok yeah this is badass
Awesome. Are y’all planning on doing any usability testing sessions to go along with the surveys/panel discussions? Happy to volunteer for that if so.
For sure! We'll put you on the list.

We made a bunch of content announcements last week, and more are on the way- including one tomorrow!
Yes. Looking forward to all of that. Don’t get me wrong: overall there’s still plenty to be excited about.
Is Hickman even involved anymore or am I chasing a waterfall at this point?
