Before we start! In case you missed it, subscribers should check out our newest original story MINING II released late last week:
Go read it…we can wait.
Dumdeedummdeedumm…doopdeedoo…bop-dop-alop...
Hey, did I mention that I became one of those people who own a record player? Got it last weekend. Now I can annoy dinner companions with stuff like “Y’know, it’s really a warmer…more organic sound. I just love analog production and don’t mind those constant clicks at all. It’s like being right there in the studi--"
Oh! Okay…your back.
Good stuff, right?. Let’s be pirates again. Yes.
So, guess what?
It’s done.
Last week our brilliant, Red Dead lovin’ designer Sasha E Head put the finishing touches on FOUNDATIONS, the first publication to come from our 3W/3M venture.
You’ve seen both stories (Ruins & Fable) premiere right here in the newsletter, but the cleaned-up final versions readied for print are just going to be eye-popping on the high-quality paper we are printing them on. Plus, there are plenty of back matter (and an all-new message from the team) all of which are going to make you proud to be a part of the whole 3W3m enterprise
I can’t for you to get these 32 pages in your hands on this later this summer.
Anyway, that’s how I spent my third week of April. Now it’s over to the Sourcebook which we are getting to press in the next couple of weeks. At over 200 pages, I think it may be one of the biggest books I’ve ever worked on … and certainly the most beautiful.
Makes me wonder about some of the beautiful books you may have in your collection. Personally, I can’t say enough about the New Gods Omnibuses (Omnibi?) that DC has put out designed by the awesome Rian Hughes and the Taschen Books version of the Lee/Ditko Spidey run. Both are massive and both are the definitive vessels for the groundbreaking work inside.
You know what….go ahead and share some of YOUR best-looking books in the comments below.  Might be time to grow the library a bit!
Okay, Question time! Bring it on!
(and don’t forget to subscribe to be a part of the conversation!)
Q1
Lovingly quipped by Laconian Sword:
When are you projecting the next live draw with Mike. I want to plan my schedule 😀
A1
Glad you asked. We had a bit of curveball late last week, so we are currently eye-balling THIS FRIDAY. I will finalize it at our weekly team meeting tomorrow, so watch this space!
Q2
Gently keystroked by Pat:
Could we get more details about the C2E2 VIP tier meet and greet? I thought the sketch level is reserved to subscribers...but apparently not? Should we just get the package the show is offering if we want that or wait for more details here?
A2
Wait for more details here! Founding level subscribers will get free entry to the events, and we’ll have more information on the sketch tier shortly (and you’ve emailed us on this subject, thanks for your patience).
Q3
(NOTE: We’ve handled this one before but just because we get this one a lot here, I’m including a version of it again. I mean I don’t really believe anyone reads this far down so it probably won’t help, but I guess ya never know. Hey, Chip!)
michaeljsmith0 asked very nicely:
Do you need to do something specific to reserve a copy if you are already a subscriber? Sorry if I missed that step...
A3
No- as long as you're subscribed at Annual or Founding, there's nothing else you need to do. In the coming weeks, we'll send out an e-mail with our partners at Zoop to collect your shipping details.
Psst…HEY! Before we wrap this up…Check this out…
This is from Vanesa Del Rey’s story BIRTH. Being lettered now. Premiering here on Substack next week.
That wraps up another 3Q/3A. Hit me with your questions/comments below and see them answered here!
And if a coupe scheduling matters come together I’m looking forward to a very special guest in next’s week’s column. Wish me luck!
Viva Templar!

Below is a picture (as is, I swear) of one of my shelves which has a number of awesome HCs by a wide variety of writers, along with the newest addition upfront. Relatedly, I didn't know bright orange was allowed on Marvel covers, but it looks amazing! Not pictured: the empty space being saved for the Decorum HC coming out this week.

Mr Wacker, sir, will 3w/3m ever be open for amateur comic creators to contribute to the universe? Like even a zine or something?
