Been a great month over here, as we finally put the finishing touches on our [MAPS] Graphic Novel Sourcebook and released it here digitally.
That book is now at the printer as of this week, and once it’s done there (in about 6 weeks), it will be rush shipped to our fulfillment partners, then sent directly to you if you’re a Circle Member or Annual Subscriber. Last week we sent reminders to everyone on those lists to fill out their shipping info- if you missed that, check your inbox. It was pretty exciting for us to get [MAPS] across the finish line, and we can’t wait for it to be in your hands shortly.
But there’s something else we’ve been working on, almost entirely in secret, that we want to start sharing with you this week, in the meantime.
Since we began 3 Worlds / 3 Moons we’ve talked about wanting to create a place for great stories to be told, without encumbrance. To build a world with enough rich detail that it could live and expand beyond just what we alone do with it.
It’s been like this from the beginning, of course- when we invited Al Ewing, Tini Howard, and Ram V to help design the initial systems that governed our new universe. It’s continued through all the amazing collaborations that have followed.
But this year felt like a fantastic time to open the gates a bit wider, and invite some more friends in to jam with us.
Here’s what came from that.
Last year, we asked some of our favorite creators to tell a new, original story in the 3W/3M Universe. You’ve seen two of these stories: Al Ewing and Nimit Malavia’s HAVO’S WAGER and Tini Howard and Phil Hester’s TREASURE. But there’s a lot more where that came from. Enough to fill an already completed 200-page volume, in fact, with a beautiful cover from Sasha E Head (pictured above):
[LEGENDS] Volume One.
This week and next, we’ll be unveiling the collaborations that make up the pages of the book you see here. We think you’ll be very happy about who’s involved, it’s a phenomenal list of talent.
And each story will be accompanied by gorgeous covers from Mike del Mundo or Mike Huddleston, which we’ll also be showing off the first time here in those same posts. Then we’ll serialize those stories here over the summer while [MAPS] goes through the printing and fulfillment process. Each of those stories will only be available to our paid subscribers, so if you haven’t already:
Sound good? Cool, see you tomorrow for the first announcement.
Should be fun.
Wow. Does this mean two deliveries this year?
Hoping to see a continuation of Tajo and Vallars’ stories this year.
