Discover more from 3 Worlds / 3 Moons
[WELCOME] James Stokoe and Caitlin Yarsky
Meet two new artists contributing to the upcoming [MAPS] graphic novel sourcebook.
Announced last Fall, [MAPS] is the second Graphic Novel Sourcebook from 3W/3M, and will be available in PRINT first exclusively as a Year 2 reward for members of our premium tier – THE CIRCLE – as well as our annual subscribers. Containing 12 brand new comic stories and jam-packed with world-building lore, [MAPS] is the definitive atlas of the 3 Worlds / 3 Moons universe.
Since then, we’ve released the first five stories from the book. Paid subscribers can read them all right here:
THE PALACE (art by Michael Avon Oeming & Michael Garland) / BLACK ARBAR (art by Christopher Mitten & Dave Stewart) / LUDDOMO (art by Lamar Mathurin) / REGA CASKAMPO (art by Juni Ba & Dave Stewart) / SANKTA URBO (art by André Lima Araújo & Chris O’Halloran)
Now, today, we’re thrilled to announce the next two artists joining 3W/3M for stories in [MAPS]. As always, each story will debut here first – and if you’d like to make sure you get the print edition, we’re currently offering 20 PERCENT OFF all new Annual Subscriptions through May 29th – our biggest discount ever.
You can reserve your complimentary copy of the [MAPS] Graphic Novel Sourcebook by subscribing or upgrading now:
THE CIRCLE members get a limited, deluxe hardcover edition with a signed and numbered book plate, while annual subscribers get a softcover edition. (Shipping will be charged separately closer to release.)
With that, let’s welcome the newest contributors…
JAMES STOKOE hails from western Canada and is the acclaimed writer-artist behind ORC STAIN, GODZILLA: THE HALF CENTURY WAR, ORPHAN AND THE FIVE BEASTS, ALIENS: DEAD ORBIT and more. As he himself puts it, he’s the go-to artist “if you have an insatiable hunger for drippy, candy color art.”
James’ story takes place on Akva and explores what happens when you cross a Khor pirate and end up seeking refuge on a ghost ship. Here’s a sample of some of his past work to whet your appetite.
CAITLIN YARSKY is a comic book artist and game designer. She collaborated with writer Sean Lewis on two Image Comics series, COYOTES and BLISS, before picking up the reigns of Jeff Lemire’s Black Hammer universe as the artist of BLACK HAMMER REBORN. Most recently, she drew two issues of WONDER WOMAN.
Her [MAPS] entry takes us to Heir for a boy-meets-girl story that promises to unleash some of the most psychedelic visuals across the Three Worlds and Three Moons. Here’s a first look at a page from the story, plus some of Caitlin’s previous work:
To tide you over until the next [MAPS] comic, here’s a sneak peek at Ming Doyle’s upcoming story:
