All right, I think we’re ready to go on this. We’ll be opening the portal for our script competition on Thursday.
Here’s a link to my previous post restating the rules, submission guidelines, rewards, and what not.
Two additional things I want you to be aware of:
We’re going to keep the portal open for either 30 days or until we get 100 submissions (whichever comes first). We also won’t be doing any pre-readings of early submissions or keeping a ‘yes’ and ‘no’ pile as things roll in. We’ll collect every submission and then go through them all at once -- which seems like the fairest way to judge these.
The portal information will be pretty straightforward. It covers your personal identification (name, email, etc.), script submission and legal documentation.
Finally, in the discussion of the previous update on this someone asked about how to format a one paragraph, high concept pitch and I said I’d provide an example.
So here’s one from the second greatest (okay, maybe third or fourth, whatever) F4 run of all time:
“After the Fantastic Four return from a difficult mission, a troubled Reed Richards decides to activate an experimental multiversal machine he has built. When he does, he meets hundreds of other Reed Richards from other realities who have banded together to eliminate the problems facing all their universes -- to literally save everyone and ’solve everything’. And because this is what Reed -- and every Reed that has ever existed -- was born to do, he is tempted to join them. The only catch? Reed learns that solving everything could possibly cost him his family.”
Or something like that.
Okay, best of luck.
REMINDER: In order to participate in [THE COMPETITION] you must be a paid subscriber, so if you haven’t already…

Thanks so much for the example. Makes it easier to visualize and better word things (I get a little flowery and narrative if left to my own devices). So To everyone taking part in this, may the best of the best win, and those not picked, to still feel accomplishment for daring to try. (I really hope that last part didn’t come out as being pompous or condescending).
Also, Are you accepting only ONE pitch, or can we send in multiple and u choose one?
Hey so when does the portal for submission drop, and where do we go to find it?
