Honestly this type of framework is even more excited! We can potentially shape the 3W3M universe in an even more explicit way!

What will be the structure of the paragraph and is there a word limitation in place? Also is everything in the world all usable or are there some limitations? thanks super excited to try to make a story in this incredible world

When the link goes up to the submission portal, then I'm sure we'll have some additional parameters for you to consider, but we're not going to be religious about any of this. Just give us a brief, single paragraph of what you want to do.

Thank you

This sounds very exciting! Hey Jonathan, I wanted to ask, is there a particular type of format you want us to present these proposals to you? And if so could you show an example of the sort of formatting you would prefer from us so we aren’t all mixing in with every type of formatting under the rainbow, so to speak? I am very much wanting to take part in this, and I definitely have a great idea that would work well with 3W3M (not to too my own horn) and want to have the best chance I can get for it to be looked at seriously, without concern that u guys aren’t familiar with the style of format I may be using.

Yeah. Happy too. I think when we do the submission post, I'll write out a 'for example' paragraph or something. That seems like fair play.

I really appreciate it John. Looking forward to submission.

Also I’m currently on a binge through ur avengers and new avengers runs. I honestly can’t tell which world building I liked better from u? This one here in Avengers, or the work u did for Krakoa era X-Men

Hey, I'm just glad you don't hate them both. Haha.

Hey John, I wanted to ask, was it gratifying that so much of ur work from your time on the Avengers had been adapted in the live action films, from Thanos and his Black Order to the Incursions mentioned in Dr Strange 2? Seeing ur ideas utilized like that, must be something to be proud of.

I just hope u got ur due credit.

U kidding? Some of the best stories I’ve ever read. That issue where the Illuminati had to fight the JLA stand ins, and had to kill their first world...man I can’t tell you how choked up I was. Only thing I wish was that Cap and the others that were changed via events in other series could have remained in their normal states before everything reached its climax.

One day you have to go back and go even bigger for them like u did for the X-Men.

Do you have any problem with us trying to connect things that haven’t been connected so far? Like building on concepts that have already been introduced but trying to expand upon them in new ways

Expand full comment

You should, of course, swing for the fence.

Expand full comment

Good question. In my pitch I want to use a concept already in use and develop it

This is what makes the 3W3M universe better than every other comic universe, the amount of connection between readers and the creators is something I've never seen before and I'd love a part of it.

Yea, very dope Idea I'll definitely give this a try!

This is so sick. I wanna read some cool shit from everyone

So should we be creating new concepts (like a new god for example) or expanding upon lore that you’ve already created (like telling a story about Tajo that hasn’t been seen before)? What happens if you like the idea that we submit but it’s already an idea you plan on delving deeper into later? What if it’s an idea that you like but it doesn’t quite fit your long term plan for the story? Does that disqualify the submission?

I'll try not to get into the weeds too deep on this, but where you're getting stuck is trying to guess the direction an organic system is going to grow toward and that's not really how any of this works. It goes where it goes. It's okay if it's a little messy or from time to time -- that's built into not planning the whole thing out from the outset. (And as a tangent, this is where a lot of 'professionals' misunderstand continuity when they work on bigger franchises. They think that if something shows up in print that it becomes 'canon' and that's not true at all. A lot of what shows up on the pages [or screen] contradicts things that have come before -- 'Canon' is what sticks, or what resonates with the crowd/audience. A lot or creators get frustrated by this, but that's just how it works. Best idea wins.) Which is the advice I would give you here. Swing for the fence. Make it cool. Don't try be predictive, that never works.

Oh, damn... and I think I just had an idea too. Sweet. I'll be looking for this.

Are the stories supposed to be cannon? If so it can probably collide with some of the stories that you guys have already planned and contradict them. I would suggest that the stories would be similar to "what if...?s" meaning they would not affect the contenuity.

Don't worry too much about. Just pitch what YOU would like to see.

Time to make the doughnuts. Again. Seriously appreciating all of these opportunities established creators have been putting out there for those of us trying to break into this world. All it takes is one, so I am going to keep swinging. That was a lot of metaphors for one paragraph. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Ooooh, hell yeah, I'm definitely gonna do this
