[MAPS] Reveal: FAYRII KINGDOM

Navigate your way to the first Map from [MAPS].

The [MAPS] Graphic Novel Sourcebook is the second 3W/3M Sourcebook release, and we’ve spent much of this year making a lot of noise about it, releasing the 12 comic stories contained within, and touting it as a comprehensive atlas of our universe. One of the questions we’ve gotten since the start is whether the book would include actual maps in its pages.

The answer is simple – it wouldn’t be [MAPS] without them.

Starting today, we’re going to begin unveiling some of those Maps and illustrations for you. These come from a host of amazingly talented artists, some from beyond the world of comics, and we hope you’ll enjoy both the images themselves and the variety of approaches.

Ever wanted to visit an aristocratic world ruled by a monarch under constant threat by their progeny? Then the FAYRII KINGDOM, illustrated by Kürşat Ünsal, is for you.

The shared symbolism of a universe existing in an endless cycle is made manifest on FAYRII. Kings and Queens reign only until one of their children is able to replace them (by whatever means possible).

As seen in the story of the same name, REGA CASKAMPO is the royal hunting grounds, where a monarch and their heir enter the grounds and stalk prey. When – or if – they return, their bounty is prepared as a great feast.

The ARENA GRANDIOZA has also been seen before, host to the great gladiatorial matches of the Nur Moto. Conscripted into battle at birth, the Nur Moto are born in the lowest castes to become fighters, battling for their very lives in front of an audience of Royals who stake warriors in proxy fights.

The MORTANTA TERRO is the blood-soaked fighting grounds of condemned Royals. The Sango Kaptito – groups of prisoners – battle together in groups, and then alone, across the most brutal desert on Fayrii. All battles take place under the watchful eye of the current Monarch and, while rare, victory here means both freedom and the return of a prisoner’s royal title.

This Map and more will make its home in the [MAPS] Graphic Novel Sourcebook.

Both the softcover edition (for Annual subscribers) and hardcover edition that also includes a numbered book plate (for members of THE CIRCLE) will be adorned with a stunning Sasha E Head cover.
