It’s a big month for all things 3W/3M. As we told you end of last week, we’ve got a lot of new comics on the way with some incredible artists (like Stephen Green), some of which we’ve told you about, some of which we haven’t (more on that this week). And we’re also very close to sending our first Founders Transmission, which will offer something we think is pretty exciting and exclusive for our biggest supporters. On top of that, we’ve got a couple new features for everyone on the way we think you’re going to dig (one of them we hinted about back during DUNE week).
But there’s even more going on behind the scenes. Story summits. New collaborators. Big new ideas for building community and interactivity through story here. The support you’ve given this thing means we get to be very ambitious about what we can try, and we’re very grateful for that. And so we thought it’d be nice to do something as a thank you, for your patronage and your patience, as we get things off the ground.
3 Worlds 3 Moons is a reader-supported initiative. Your subscription directly enables us to make more comics, hire more creators, and tell bigger and better stories. We appreciate your patronage!
If you want to know about world-building in comics, one of the first creators you should talk to is Brian K. Vaughan. From SAGA to Y: THE LAST MAN to THE PRIVATE EYE to PAPER GIRLS to EX MACHINA, BKV again and again shows he knows how to develop deeply textured, richly imagined new worlds you want to spend years in.
So let’s do that.
This Thursday, NOV 18 at 9pm Eastern, we’ll be hosting a Conversation with Brian K. Vaughan and Jonathan Hickman. We’ll create a thread for you to submit questions beforehand. It’ll be a fun talk, we’re sure.
Important to note that this one is only for paid subscribers, so if you haven’t already, please:
See you Thursday! - 3W3M Team
Well, whatever I had scheduled before just got taken off the calendar. I can't miss this. I actually own two pages of Tony Harris's original art from the final issue of Ex Machina, so to say I'm into this is an understatement.
Y: The Last Man made me sob harder than any book, movie, show, game. The penultimate issue broke me into pieces.
I picked up Saga earlier this year and flew through it. Such a cool series. (I would DIE for an Open Circuit spinoff)
Brian K. Vaughan's imagination is staggering.
