Adventure Begins in THE VALLARS!
The Original Adventuring Family arrives April 13 in a new ongoing series we're delivering to you FREE.
We’ve been teasing more [COMICS] for a while now, and next week we take a major step toward delivering exactly that with the launch of the first ongoing series from 3 Worlds / 3 Moons. Starting on Thursday, April 13, we’ll be releasing weekly chapters of THE VALLARS.
And best of all, it’ll be FREE for EVERYONE to read.
Drawn by the amazing Jason Howard and colored by Frank Martin – both of whom you should remember from DUELS I and II – THE VALLARS focuses on Tajo Vallar many years before before his doomed expedition to the Kaoso moon.
Here’s what we said about it in our original announcement:
THE VALLARS is the story of a young Tajo Vallar, boy explorer and inventor, and his first journey across the Three Worlds and Three Moons.
We wanted to do a story about discovery, wonder, and family. And if our larger story is about the cycles of a universe, then this cycle made a great deal of sense to explore, too.
We’re making this series FREE to read. A cool part of this whole experiment is sometimes we get to make the books accessible to as many people as possible, get comics out there for everyone to enjoy. This is one you can share with your friends, your kids, people who might not be able to afford it– all we really ask in return, is to help us spread it around.
A major goal since the start of 3 Worlds / 3 Moons is to make our comics more accessible for everyone, but this is only possible if those can support our project do so. We also need everyone who reads to help us share it with others so it can find the widest possible audience. Both are a major boon for us, and it’ll lead to even more comics for everyone and help us bring in the best talent.

One change we’re making to the release of THE VALLARS is the cadence. Between the way the book was originally conceived and our ongoing experiment with different formats, we’re going to roll out one chapter per week, rather than dropping whole issues at once and making you wait months between installments. Each week you’ll get a distinct chapter of this story presented in both traditional formats and vertical scroll. The latter started as an experiment, but between your reaction and seeing the way different stories take on a different life in that presentation, we’ve really fallen in love with the format, and it felt perfect for this story in particular.
And as each part is completed, you’ll also be able to download a DRM-free version to read in the PANELS app or a PDF version.
