I’m back from a whirlwind family trip to ancient Greece (where I climbed Mt. Zeus nearly to death!) just in time to start packing up for 3W3M’s first foray to the San Diego Comic Convention next week!
As I think I’ve mentioned, we will be at SDCC to not only finalize planning Year Two of our massive experiment in world-building, but also to meet some of you on our 3W3M panel, to debut our brand new booth (designed by our artiste provocateur Sasha E Head).
So stay tuned this week for more info!
True fact: I went to a couple years of high school near San Diego (go, Vista Panthers!) and was obviously a massive comics fan waaay before it was acceptable. In all those years, I never even knew the Con existed just a few miles away down the 5. To think I could have been THIS close to the hoi polloi of 1980s comics royalty makes me mist up like a New Teen Titan distraught at the loss of Kole!

SOURCEBOOK UPDATE 001!
As you saw last week, we’ve begun showing off the final version of the Sourcebook. We started with [Economics] which — despite the word “economics” — seems to have really excited a lot of you. Check it out if you missed it:
Next up this week is the [Religion] section featuring some of the most talked-about designs we’ve done so far. More finished chapters will follow in the coming days.
NOTE: And because a couple of you asked: once we are closer to actually getting the printed book in your hands, we WILL be releasing a PDF/CBZ of the entire book for all paid subscribers so you can read it all in one sitting…like I have a dozen times!
SOURCEBOOK UPDATE 002!
Staying on the [SYSTEMS] topic, some of you process nerds (which, I guess, is probably all of you if you’re reading this) may be interested in seeing the proofs we get from the printer…in this case, a wonderful Canadian printing company called Hemlock.
I’m confident you’ll agree that it’s beautiful-looking work. I simply cannot wait for this book to be in your grubby hands!
All right, enough of my vamping, let’s see what in the ol’ internet messages from you!
Q1
“Producer Jay” sent us the following after reading the [ECONOMICS] section of the Sourcebook:
That was really excellent. So well done.
Something I was wondering while reading the pirate story again, when will we see those badass dogfighters? I haven't forgotten about them since day 1. That's a rhetorical question.
I am gonna need to get to decoding some Kreska when I have this in print. Treasure Hunt!
A1
Indeed there is more coming about our Pirates. (In fact, I’ve teased some of it in previous editions of 3Q3A.) Should have some news on it in the coming days.
Q2
Mike Coghlan probably took a break from doomscrolling to type:
I’m in the Substack app on an iPad and I don’t see a way to download the comic so I can import it into Panels. Do I have to go to the website to do that?
A2
Although the 3W3M crack I.T. team answered Mike’s question on the thread where he wrote it, I’m running the answer here too since a few of you have asked the same thing.
“If you have the Panels app, just click 'Read Now' on the Panels version box. You'll see an option that says 'Read In Panels' and you should be able to get it from there!”
Hope that helps.
(And I have no idea why the I.T. team added the exclamation mark at the end there other than they are making fun of the way I write and talk!)
Q3
In the 11th hour of the 11th day when the 11th minute strikes, a person named “Chris” will write:
Do we have any final dimensions for the Sourcebook? Need to know which shelf to make room on. Will it be standard Image/Marvel/DC deluxe size, (roughly) 7.5"X11.25"? Or closer to a Dark Horse Library Edition or DC Absolute? "European" width like Blacksad, Zenith or the Moebius Library?
The precarious geometry that is my limited shelf space shivers in anticipation.
A3
A geometry question! My favorite!
The book is clocking in at a perfect 8.75” x 11.25” which is the exact same size as this “Whimsical Festive Llama Notebook” that apparently exists.
So get that shelf-space ready. Donate some old books if ya need to make room! And by all means, FIND THAT WHIMSICAL LLAMA!
Next week we will be live from San Diego. In the meantime, no one spoil BETTER CALL SAUL!
Viva Templar!

I like the posted photos of the contract proofs. The review pages that are sent to the print company. It would be great if you guys continue to do things like that. Letting us see the behind the scenes stuff. That makes 3W3M really stand out. I believe this will be something really special.
Lot of Chris action in this comments section, huh?
